General
Owner is to ensure that the dog is up to date on all vaccinations (including kennel cough) plus regular worming and flea treatment.
The Client accepts that even though their dog is vaccinated against Bordetella (Kennel Cough) there is a chance that their dog can still contract Kennel Cough. The Client agrees that they will not hold Adventure Paws responsible if their dog contracts Kennel Cough while attending.
The Client agrees to take any necessary measures or precautions to ensure that their dog is continuously free of contagious, infectious, or otherwise communicable diseases. The Client further agrees to notify Adventure Paws immediately of any infectious and/or contagious disease or conditions their dog has been exposed to or is affected by. Such diseases and conditions include, but are not limited to: Distemper, Hepatitis, Kennel Cough (Bordetella), Parvovirus, Corona virus, worms, Lyme disease, Fleas, Pregnancy, Infectious Skin Diseases and Intestinal Parasites. Adventure Paws reserves the right to refuse admission until satisfied that the condition is resolved.
Owner is to make Adventure Paws aware of any behavioural issues that may cause any problems while being walked with other dogs, people etc and Adventure Paws will not be held responsible for any damage that your dog may cause (including vet fees and third party claims)
Owner is to make Adventure Paws aware of any medical issues existing or new.
Emergency contact details must be given prior to starting any service with Adventure Paws if no contact can be made in case of emergency, Adventure Paws will consult with the vets and take the best course of action for the dog, the owner will be liable for any vet fees incurred.
Whilst we do have insurance, any vet bills your pet may incur whilst in our care will primarily need to be paid by the owner so we strongly advise you have insurance for your dog. Should your dog need to use our insurance services, or should anyone make a third party claim against your pet, you will be expected to pay the excess premium (£100 per claim) which forms part of the policy. If your pet is injured in our care, any vet fees under £100 will need to be paid by the owner. Our insurance will not cover any illness or injury as a result of any pre existing condition. We reserve the right to refuse to walk your dog or care for your pet if he/she is not insured.
Should your pet need any medication whilst in our care, we will need to be advised of this during their assessment and all medication must be provided by the owner. Please also remember to advise us if your pet begins a new medication or if dosage requirements change. We will follow instructions to administer medication as advised to your pet however we cannot be held responsible for any complications that arise as a result.
It is your responsibility to keep us updated with any changes to your own or emergency contact details and your pet care needs.
The Client agrees that Adventure Paws is not responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged leads, collars, tags, clothing or any other item left with their dog.
The client will be asked to complete relevant form/s about their pet and sign to confirm it is correct.
A meet and greet must take place before first walk to ensure client has filled out information form.
Access to the property must be available on the arranged day / time, if access can’t be gained this will be subject to full payment.
Adventure will invoice you at the end of each week (or month if agreed) for their services which you can pay by BACs. Cashless payments are preferred as there is more traceability.
Payments for dog walking or pet care are required within 7 calendar days of receiving your invoice. We will email or give you your invoice on the last day of walking your dog/caring for your pet for that week. If payment is not made within 7 calendar days, we reserve the right to refuse to walk your dog/care for your pet.
We will take photos of your pets which may be used on our website and social media platforms including Facebook and Instagram. If you do not want photos of your pet used, please let us know
Dog walking
Any cancellations 24 hours prior to the walk will be charged at half the price of the walk.
Any cancellations made within 24 hours of the walk will be charged at full price.
Any permanent cancellations will require 2 weeks’ notice to Adventure Paws, failure to do so will require two weeks payment of usual slots taken.
The Client agrees to ensure their dog has not eaten in the hour before pick up by Adventure Paws to ensure sufficient time to digest food before any exercise or play. Failure to do so may result in the potentially life-threatening condition Bloat (Gastric Torsion).
The dogs safety will always be paramount when it comes to adverse weather and walks can be cut short to ensure the safety of the dogs.
All dogs must wear a collar and Identification tag during their walk. The law now states all dogs must be micro chipped so we strongly advise you to check with the micro-chipping database to ensure they hold the correct contact details for your dog. All dogs in our care will wear one of our personalised Identification Tags at all times during their walk.
All dogs are transported in secure crates within our van and your dog will never share a crate with another dog, except those from the same household
Walking dogs can sometimes mean wet and dirty dogs. Our van is fully stocked to clean and dry your dog(s) to the best of our availability, however sometimes they may require a full bath which is the owner’s responsibility.
We will walk your dog on lead during his/her first few walks to make sure they are well socialised and bond with the walker. Should your dog be allowed off lead, we will require a signed disclaimer. We do carry dog treats whilst walking your dog, however if you would prefer they don’t have any treats, please make us aware of this. If your dog is rewarded with particular treats on his/her recall, these will need to be provided by the owner.
We walk dogs of all ages including puppies; as long as they have been given the correct vaccinations and this has been certified by your vet.
We are not able to walk any female dog whilst they are on heat or within 6 weeks of having puppies.
We aim to walk your dog/care for your pets in the agreed timescales however sometimes due to unforeseen circumstances, we may need to change these timings at short notice but we will keep you informed via text message.
Should your dog have any behavioral (territorial, dominance etc) problems, we need to be made aware of this prior to your dogs first walk. If your dog requires a muzzle for their own safety, other dog’s safety, or their walker’s safety, this must be provided by the own
Home visiting/sitting
In the event that additional items needs to be purchased in the absence of the client, i.e, pet food, litter or other necessary items that contribute to the health and well being of your pet, the pet carer will purchase these items, retain a receipt and the pet owner is responsible for reimbursement of these items on their return.
We fully dispose of your pets waste in an ethical manner. We do require for all home based animals that the appropriate waste items are provided. I.e, litter trays, scoopers and waste bags and you will need to let us know where you would like the waste disposed of.
For changing of litter trays we do require that the pet owners leave the appropriate items for this including litter, a pooper scooper and waste bags. Please advise us where you would like your pets waste disposed of.
We will clean up after your pets within your home to the best of our ability. Please advise us of the designated area in which your cleaning supplies are kept.
We will not accept any responsibility or liability for any animals that escape or become lost or injured, fatal or otherwise when instructed to leave the clients animals in a fenced area.
We require all food to be provided by the owner. We need to be advised of where the food is stored, how much food is given to your pet, where they like to have their food and the desired times for feeding.
We do require that your pet is fully vaccinated and the appropriate flea/worm treatments are administered on a regular basis.
If your cat has access to a cat flap, we will need to be advised if this is to be locked during particular times or if they have free access to this

GDPR
Adventure Paws is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Under the Data Protection Act 1998 Adventure Paws has a legal duty to protect any personal information it collects from you.This privacy policy explains how Adventure Paws uses the information it collects about you and procedures that Adventure Paws has in place to safeguard your privacy. Adventure Paws does not capture and store any personal information about an individual who accesses this website, except where they voluntarily chooses to give Adventure Paws personal information via email, or by using a form on the website, or by enquiring about any of Adventure paws services. In these circumstances, any personal information supplied will only be used to provide the requested information or service unless wider purposes are specified in the form on which the information is supplied or at the point of collection on the website, in which case the information may be used for any of those wider purposes.
Personal information is not disclosed to third parties unless this is indicated on the web page at the point of collecting the information or as required or allowed by law. Any information provide on the dog information form will be kept in a locked secure cabinet and no information will be shared with third parties. If you have said no on the dog information sheet to adventure paws taking photos or using photos of your pet to upload to social media or website no images will be uploaded to website or social media. However adventure paws loves to send updates of your pet and photos to yourself.
Your rights:
Data protection legislation is there for both your and our protection, and with this you have a number of rights which we will outline below:
a) Right of confirmation
You have the right to obtain confirmation from us as to whether or not your personal data is being processed. If this is something you wish to do then you can contact us at any time.
b) Right of access
You have the right to know what information we store of you and are able to request a copy. Along with this, you have a right to request for us to alter or erase the personal data we hold for you, or to restrict our use of it.
c) Right to rectification
Should we hold information and personal data about you that is incorrect, you can at any time to notify us of this so that we can make the necessary amendments.
d) Right to erasure
With European legislation, you have a right to request for your personal data to be forgotten, and we have an obligation to comply without delay, where one of the following grounds applies and so long as the processing is not necessary:
The personal data is no longer necessary in relation to the purposes for which they were collected or otherwise processed.
You withdraw your consent to which the processing is based according to point (a) of Article 6(1) of the GDPR, or point (a) of Article 9(2) of the GDPR, and where there is no other legal ground for the processing.
The personal data must be erased for compliance with a legal obligation in Union or Member State law to which we as an organisation are subject.
If one of the above applies and you wish to request the erasure of personal data stored by us, then you can contact us at any time, and we shall promptly ensure that the erasure request is complied with. In any case where we have made personal data public and are obliged pursuant to Article 17(1) to erase the personal data, we will, taking account of available technology and the cost of implementation, take reasonable steps, including technical measures, to inform any others who were passed the information that you have requested the removal of your data or any links to or copies of it.
